2009 Alderbrook Pinot Gris
This 2009 bottling is the first time for us to sculpt excellent Russian River Valley Pinot Grigio grapes into an aromatic white wine appropriately called Pinot Gris. Similar to Pinot Gris hailing from Alsace, our wine has very pretty forward aromatic tones reminiscent of white flowers and apricots. The wine was 100% barrel-fermented in small oak barrels leaving an enriching stroke of oak woven through the wine. Pinot Gris is an extremely useful wine for matching with food because its richness, spiciness, pleasant weightiness and lush mouthfeel can contend with all sorts of spicy dishes.
Varietal: 100% Pinot Gris Vintage: 2009 Appellation: Russian River Valley Production: 500 cases Alcohol: 13.8% Aging: 6 months in neutral oak
2009 Terlato Chardonnay
This wine comes from Russian River Valley, universally recognized to be among the best Chardonnay producing regions in the world. The unique soil and climate found in Russian River Valley provides us with the perfect location for producing a world-class Chardonnay. The traditional winemaking techniques of barrel fermentation followed by sur lie aging were employed. These steps enhance the wine’s pure fruit characteristics of apple and pear with a pleasant richness and creamy texture. Varietal: 100% Charonnay Vintage: 2009 Appellation: Russian River Valley Alcohol: 13.8% Aging: 10 months in French Oak barrels, 30% new. Lees stirred every 2 weeks, no sterile filtration
2010 Terlato Pinot Grigio The Terlato family brings their commitment and passion to crafting world-class wine to their namesake label. Alderbrook winery hosts the production of the family's Sonoma County wines. Russian River Valley Pinot Grigio is an important wine within the Terlato Vineyard wines and made its inaugural appearance in the 2004 vintage. Morning hand harvesting into half-ton picking bins preceded whole cluster pressing. The intent of all winemaking steps is to preserve the wine's inherent fresh, bright personality. An aromatic profile of melons, orange blossom and subtle spices hitched to a lively mouthfeel and lingering finish makes for a memorable wine. This pale gold beauty has the crowd-pleasing versatility needed to enhance a wide array of dishes. Varietal: Pinot Grigio Vintage: 2010 Appellation: Russion River Valley Alcohol: 13.8% Aging: Aged 6 months in stainless steel tank and neutral French oak barrels to preserve the fresh fruit and mineral aromas and flavors. Fermentation Time: Whole-cluster pressed, racked after cold settling. 70% of the wine was tank fermented at cooler temperatures, 30% barrel fermented in neutral French oak.
