2002 Reserve Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley
Compared to Alderbrook's Old Vine Zin, this is more tannic, almost brooding. It doesn't offer the immediate blast of pleasure, but it is a very fine wine, with complex berry, spice, herb, smoke and cocoa flavors.
Good now, and should gain complexity over the next five years.
